Specialist victim advice centres
The first point of contact for victims of right-wing and other prejudice-motivated attacks are specialist victim advice centres, which provide free, confidential and, if desired, anonymous counselling and support to victims. Whether this be legal assistance, psychosocial counselling, contact mediation or accompanying you to lawyers’ offices, courts, police or doctors – the services offered by specialist advice centres are diverse and depend on the individual needs of the counsellor. They have psychological and legal training and are very experienced in dealing with right-wing and other prejudice-motivated acts of violence as well as the individual options for action following an assault.
Most of the German federal states now have such specialist, non-governmental advice centres for those affected by right-wing, racist, anti-Semitic, homophobic, transgender and other prejudice-motivated threats and violence. Together with an advice centre, you can also submit an application to the CURA Victims’ Fund. The following is a list of advice centres in alphabetical order by federal state.
